NEW YORK (OCN) — The Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting for 2011 is getting closer and closer everyday. What isn’t getting closer are the trees that can match the 100 ft (30 m) foot spruce erected on Thursday, November 11, 1999 that was being cared for by Cathy and Jim Thomson in Killingworth, Connecticut.
So how big a tree can Rockefeller Center take? Well, the vehicles use to transport the trees to Manhatan can handle a tree of 125 ft (38 m).
