NEW JERSEY (OCN) — For the first time in Essex County College school history, their men’s basketball team is in the semi-finals of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) championship. Coach Corey Lowery’s team edged Des Moines Area Community College 68-66 in last night’s quarterfinal round.
The Wolverines will now face Wake Technical Community College (North Carolina) at 7:00 PM tomorrow in Danville, Illinois.
In last night’s game, Essex County College trailed by 2 points at halftime. Dion Rogers and Chris Compas both scored 22 points in the victory. The Region XIX champions had defeated Dean College of Massachusetts 85-82 in the first round.
