RHODE ISLAND (OCN) — Officials at the Coventry Police Department are attempting to track down a male suspect who used a counterfeit US$100 bill at a Coventry Stop and Shop.
A white male entered the store that sell flowers and proceeded to pass over a counterfeit US$100 bill to an employee at the florist counter. The man waited until the clerk took a phone call as a distraction to hand her the counterfeit money. He purchased a bouquet of flowers with the fake US$100 bill and received US$85 in change.
After examination, the bill was found to be a US$5 bill that was converted into US$100.
