NEW YORK (OCN) — Santa Claus delivered a cool gift for Christmas yesterday but he forgot the batteries. The missing batteries could have helped, according to investigators, prevent a two-car accident in the Bronx yesterday.
Investigators say previously used batteries in a radio transmitter for a toy airplane was said to help it to veer off course which sent it accidentally into city streets. As the weak batteries were no longer able to help the operator direct the movements of the airplane, it went out into the busy streets and in the path of a silver 2009 Honda Accord which lost visibility upon a cracked windshield causing the Accord to rear end a parked yellow 1999 Volkswagen New Beetle injuring the Accord’s driver who did not have on her seat belt.
No charges were brought against the operator of the model airplane.
