NEW JERSEY (OCN) — “Is this your MetroCard?” says a pretty face with a polite smile but at the end of the day, you will not think so.
When asked the question, a person’s natural reaction is to check themselves to see if it is in fact their MetroCard and this is where the trap is set.
The young lady is not alone and her male friends are looking to see where you stored your MetroCard and other valuables. While riding the PATH train, you won’t know that an item or items on your person is being snatched during the bumpy ride.
Riders are urged to have their MetroCards tucked away in a MetroCard holder. The holder not only protects the MetroCard from damages while it is not in use but it can also can have markings making it easy for you to identify easily if found and also identify to police should you feel it being removed from your person in the act on the train.
