NEW YORK (OCN) — A Staten Island teen made a scene yesterday when he allegedly brought a 9 mm handgun inside his school.
It was supposed to be a peaceful last day of school at IS-49 but Darren Rivera had other plans. Last week, Rivera had been involved in a fight with one of his classmate where he allegedly threatened to kill the other student.
According to a spokesperson for Staten Island District Attorney Office, Rivera will face up to seven years in prison if he is convicted on the charge.
Above is the Police Commissioner’s message about how you can help get illegal handguns off the street and help to save lives.
