NIGERIA (OCN) — Why do Nigerian Scams work so well? Why do so many people loose their identity and their money? Is someone teaching people how to scam? To find out, I pretend to be a young teen who needs schooling and was informed about some school’s website.

Upon visiting one site, I saw that they offered:

Mathematics
English Language
Religion & Moral Education
General Science
Social Studies
Information Technology

Mathematics
Scam artist need to know how to convert currency from one country to the next. Example is a UK Lotto sent to USA residents

English Language
Most people speak/read English these days and scam artist need to learn and know English so they can create ONE generic scam letter to send which cuts their cost.

Religion & Moral Education
In one email we got it said “Rather, I will present you as the next of kin, you must be bold, and confidence in putting the claim in accordance to my instruction Kindly contact me via the above e -mail address. I need your strong assurance and confidentiality. God bless us.” By using the religion card, we sympathize and say “Hey! It must be genuine”

General / Science
Often, fake checks and fake money is needed so one must know their inks, paper to fool even financial institutions.

Social Studies
If you’re pretending to be in the New York when you are not, you have to know that the Bronx Bombers is a sport team and not a military airplane.

Information Technology
How and where to create websites for cheap to fool people looking for jobs, lotto’s, contest and more.
