OHIO (OCN) — Here is something you don’t see and hear everyday. A woman in Youngstown, Ohio is reporting that she found 25-cents in Papa John’s 23-cents Pizzas.
The pizzas, sold by Papa John’s stores in Cleveland, Youngstown, Columbus and Toledo, were offered as part of an apology for unauthorized Lebron James “Crybaby” t-shirts that were sold in Washington, D.C., on Friday.
Residents in the area were able to purchase the pizzas for a low cost of 23-cent.
So how did the quarter end up in the box? It appears when Brian Clarke went to to his local restaurant to order the large pizza (on-line orders are NOT included in this offer) he had placed his change on top of the pizza box where it had the chance to slip in as he took it to his wife, Regina, who was waiting in the parking lot outside.
Mrs. Clarke, not knowing that it was a quarter on her slice, took a bite and almost broke her tooth. When she went into the restaurant with her husband to complain, the manager was able to pull up footage of the restaurant’s on their CCTV system.
On the video, you can clearly see Mr. Clarke placing his change on the box as he walked in the store and exited the restaurant.
The restaurant has since posted a sign near their cash register warning future patrons to be cautious when handling their change.
