NEW YORK (OCN) — Are you in traffic? Late for work as well and is feeling hungry? Well, if you have no time to pull over for a meal, which could have a line and increase your delay, there is good news.
The giant pastry maker is bringing their products to a New York toll booth near you. “We’re not just a business” says a spoke Juan Martin “we’re people too.” Martin inform us that due to lateness, most people just grab anything and go and often discard their order in the trash as it wasn’t their major preference.
“Wasted food isn’t good” he adds “and also the containers used in the order is also thrashed which isn’t good for the environment.” With help form the NYDOT (New York Department of Transportation) they hope to launch their “Buy and Drive” program.
All one has to do is phone or text their order and when they arrive at the dedicated toll boot lane, the order and the tolls will be billed to the electronic pass account on the car.
We spoke with Elizabeth Green of the NYDOT who says that could actually have more drivers sign up for the electronic pass and with everyone to using an electronic pass, congestion on the roads could be reduced. All-in-all a sweet deal for all.
