The New York Times Travel Show is held at the the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center which is less than a mile away from New York Penn Station (two miles from Grand Central using the M42 bus) and there are many easy options to get to Jacob K. Javits Convention Center quickly and safely.
If you just arrived from JFK, LGA or EWR airport with lots of luggage, consider renting a locker near Penn Station for your things if you will not be reserving hotels in New York. If the luggage is not too heavy, you can always take them along and pay US$3.00 per item to store them at the Javits Center. Please be sure to take them when you leave or they will be given to the New York State Police who will donate them after 90 days if you do not retrieve them.
Please note that it can be very cool inside the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center so plan to have clothing (in layers) that can keep you comfortable before going so that you will have a great time.
Walking:
Short on cash? Need some exercise? To walk from New York Penn Station to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, you will need to walk West towards 11th Avenue along West 34th Street where the M34 bus will also be travelling.
Walking on average takes about twenty (20) minutes from New York Penn Station and depending on the time of year, you may have a lot of company as people young and old will be attending there for events such as the New York Anime Festival or the New York International Auto Show and New York Times Travel Show.
Bus:
Are you and your guest unable to walk twenty (20) minutes from New York Penn Station? If so, a bus will be perfect for you. Buses that are heading westbound from Penn Station to the Javits Center are the M16 bus and the M34 bus.
The trip will take less than ten (10) minutes (depending on traffic along with the weather) to get to 8th Avenue and West 34th Street. For a smoother travel, it is best to utilize the M34 bus.
Subway:
Unfortunately, there isn’t subway service from Penn Station, New York to Javits Center. The subway does stop at New York Penn Station but you will have to find an alternate method (walking, bus, shuttle or taxi) to get to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

33rd Street Station: PATH
34th Street/Penn Station: Amtrak, NJ Transit, LIRR
8th Avenue: A, C, E, LIRR
7th Avenue: 1, 2, 3, LIRR
6th Avenue: B, D, F, N, Q, R, W
Taxi:
If you have the funds to spare, taxi cabs are also available for your trip and the driver will be very happy that you are considering them for the five (5) minute trip. To get a taxi, it is best that you use the Penn Station’s main entrance at Seventh Avenue and West 32nd Street so you can obtain one very easily. Entrances for the Javits Center are at located at 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Streets on 11th Avenue and your driver will know to drop you close to one.
Shuttle:
Are you coming from the JFK, LGA or EWR airport? If so, you may reserve an airport shuttle that will take you to Penn Station or directly to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Entrances for the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center are at located at 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Streets on 11th Avenue so let your driver know to drop you close to one.
Driving:
Are you driving and need on-site parking for the Javits Convention Center? Unfortunately, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center does not have on-site parking but if you can not leave your vehicle at home, off-site parking for the Javits Convention Center is available for you.
