New York will have a special guest in November 2009. The guest, The Navy assault ship USS New York, will arrive on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Pier 88 in Manhattan near the USS Intrepid.

Those interested in seeing the craft (LPD-21) should do so before her scheduled departure ten (10) days later on Thursday, November 12, 2009 following Veterans Day 2009. Can’t make it to New York? Not to worry, as the commissioning of the USS New York into active Navy service will streamed live online from the US Navy’s website at www.navy.mil.
