Going camping? Here are a few tips in using recreational vehicles while in New York.
1. Stop and relax your body.
Stop occasionally and take a break at one of the many attractions in The State of New York or at rest stop along your journey.
2. Use your headlights.
Rental vehicles are often dark in color so if you have your headlights and taillights on, it will you let you be seen and reduce your chances of being hit in the rear or head on.
3. Avoid driving in reverse.
Most vehicle accidents are caused when the driver is navigating the vehicle in reverse. If you must reverse, try to have outside assistance to direct you and traffic.
4. Do not go “off road”.
Your van may not be equipped for such a task and you may risk being stranded in a remote area and without service on a mobile phone, yo may be delayed until others discover you.
5. Avoid making “U” turns.
Vans have a wider turning radius and will require you to make at least one backward motion which could cause you to reverse into traffic or other objects at your rear. If you reverse off the road, you could risk loosing traction necessary to move.
