Planning on visiting Dorney Park from New York City? We have a few options that will be helpful to you and your family and friends.
Local Buses
A single Greyhound bus leaves New York City at 10:00 a.m. and arrives in Allentown at 12:30 p.m. From there you can take the LANTA local bus system, route H, to Dorney Park, which leaves once an hour from the local bus depot. You can take the one that leaves at 12:45 p.m. and be at Dorney Park at 1:00. After that you have a little over 5 hours to enjoy the park, because the last H bus leaves Dorney Park at 6:20 and arrives at the bus depot at 6:45. The Greyhound leaves for New York City at 7:20 p.m., and you’ll be back in NYC at 9:40 p.m. The Greyhound is at least $33 roundtrip, and the LANTA day pass costs $2 (make sure to request the day pass or you’ll pay $1.75 each way), so the total cost of your trip will be at least $35. Not bad for 200 miles roundtrip.
Along with Greyhound is the more expensive Bieber Bus. It is a $44 round trip ticket (for an Adult) to Wescosville, PA which is only a few miles walk to Dorney Park. On weekends and holidays the Bieber Bus departs at 9:00 a.m. and you will reach Wescosville at 11:00 a.m. The benefit of the Beiber Bus is the early departure from Manhattan.
