What are required permits in New York? Below are mandatory permits that are required.
Driving Permit
If you followed the requirements for passing the written test, you will be given the permit to take home and can begin practicing for the road test so it is very important to study the written test sample questions to increase your chances of passing.
Firearm Permit
Thinking of owning a handgun or rifle in New York? To own a handgun in the State of New York, it will cost you US$439.00. The mentioned fee includes US$99.00 for your fingerprints and US$340.00 is the application fee. To own a rifle, it will cost US$200.00 less (US$140.00) for the application fee. Owners must be twenty-one (21) years of age to apply for a handgun license or rifle/shotgun permit. In Manhattan, this can be done in person at the License Division, located at 1 Police Plaza in Room 110 from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Parking Permit
If you are in need of a parking permit due to a disability, you will need to provide the NYC Department of Transportation with certain information and documents (that will be kept confidential) before it can be issued.
Performance Permit
Before any street performances in New York, the performer(s) must acquire the necessary permits from the New York Police Department (NYPD) if they plan to be in or near a city park or use a sound device such as a loudspeaker, megaphone, or stereo during their public performance. The fee for the permit is US$45.00 and is not a requirement for performances without a sound device. Since your guest (and crashers) can carry a sound device to your performance, you may want to take the precaution and spend a few dollars and minutes for a street performance permit instead of a a lot more money and days in court fighting a citation.
Teen Work Permit
In most cities, the work permit is obtained through the local schools so it is important to speak with an official there as soon as possible before the school goes on an extended break. If you need to apply during vacation periods, you will have to ask the certificating office of your school (or the one nearest to you) for the applications to obtain Working Permits in New York and visit with your legal guardian if you will want a full-time employment certificate.
