How are New York Museums on major holidays? Some museums are closed on major holidays which is unfortunate. On holidays, locals and visitors of New York would more take part in the current holiday celebration and would not be at the museums so there would be less crowds and possible provide a better learning and exciting experience.
While researching and visiting museums, here are what we discovered.
New York City Fire Museum
The New York City Fire Museum is closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Along with major holidays, they are closed every Monday.
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is open on Christmas Day. Budget two (2) hours to see all the wonderful figures inside.
Metropolitan Museum
The Metropolitan Museum is closed on Christmas (along with New Year’s) Day.
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
