How can one travel between Troy, New York and Newark, New Jersey using public transportation? Here are a few thing that you need to know before you plan a trip from New Liberty International Airport.
The City of Troy is one of the areas in the State of New York that has instituted curfews on those who are seventeen (17) and under who are within two thousand (2,000) feet of a school building during school hours. Those found breaking the curfew will be detained by the police and held until they can be picked up by their parents or legal guardian. A second offence by the minor carries a US$100.00 fine from upon the parents and twenty-five (25) hours of community service upon the minor.
Troy, NY is about a 2.5 hour drive from the borough of Manhattan and can be reached by Amtrak to Rensselaer by commuting from New York Penn Station in Manhattan. You will therefore need to travel from Newark Airport to New York Penn Station by either bus, train shuttle or taxi so that you can meet the Amtrak trains in Manhattan. Fare will be inexpensive with Amtrak depending on how far in advance you reserve the tickets so please keep this in mind.
