Do you need to get to Irving Plaza from Penn Station in New York? Well, it is fairly easy to get to as Irving Plaza from Penn Station as it is approximately one (1) mile apart.
To get there, some walking is unfortunately required (no matter what travel option you select) so for your safety and those going along with you, please do not have your cell phone or music player at your ears so you can stay alert. While at Irving Plaza, be sure to adhere to the camera restrictions to avoid problems upon yourself.
Walking: 30 to 40 minutes
Walk along with traffic on 7th Avenue. Once you reach West 31st Street, you can make a left (heading against traffic) to head East towards Broadway. At Broadway, make a right to head South. Along Broadway, you will pass Madison Square Park (which will be on your left) then make a left on East 17th Street where you will be walking against traffic. East 17th Street will take you towards Irving Place where you’ll make one last turn. At Irving Place (a two-way Street), make a right to head to the Plaza.
Bus: 15 to 20 minutes
Walk against traffic on 7th Avenue. Once you reach West 34th Street, you can make a right to head East towards Broadway. At Broadway, take the M06 (South Ferry via Broadway) bus. The M06 (South Ferry via Broadway) bus will take you towards South Ferry where you will come off at the East 14th Street stop. Walk back to East 14th Street. At East 14th Street, cross and continue on Union Square East towards East 15th Street. At East 15th Street, make your final turn and head East towards Irving Place to reach the Irving Plaza.
Subway: 10 to 15 minutes
Subway directions are pretty simple. Walk against traffic on 7th Avenue. Once you reach West 33rd Street, you can make a right to head East towards Broadway. At Broadway, make a left and head towards the 34th Street – Herald Square Station. There you can take the N, Q, R or W towards Union Square – 14th Street Station. Exit the Station then head East on East 14th Street towards Irving Place. Once on Irving Place, continue to walk towards the Irving Plaza.
Taxi: 5 to 10 minutes
If you will hire a taxi, (see taxi calcluators for estimates) it is best that you hire one by the station’s main entrance at 7th Avenue and 32nd Street so you can obtain a taxi cab easily. Depending on traffic, you will be at the Irving Plaza in 5 to 10 minutes and pay about US$15.00 for the fare and tip.
