Victoria Lindsay

FLORIDA (OCN) — Victoria “Tori” Lindsay, 16, born in Florida, USA is a teenager that was assaulted by six other girls in a attempt for them to post the filming of the beating on the video site YouTube. There had also been a dispute about a supposed message by Lindsay on the community MySpace.

The six girls and two boys (ages ranging from 14 to 18)

April Cooper, April – 14
Brittini Hardcastle, – 17
Kayla Hassell, – 15
Britney Mayes, – 17
Cara Murphy, – 16
Mercades Nichols, – 17

Zachary Ashley, – 17
Stephen Schumaker, – 18

were arrested and is currently awaiting trial for kidnapping assault. Lindsay is now suffering from head injuries and bad eye sight because of the attack.

Dr. Phil paid one of the girls bail so she was released, but in the end it was decided to not air an episode about the case. Dr. Phil has received much criticism for that move. The production team has even stated that they took it too far, paying a bail for a criminal of this calibre.

Currently, there is one support page for Lindsay on MySpace at www.myspace.com/teamtori (cancelled) and according to MySpace, the acount was created January 27, 2007 so we can only assume the account was converted after the fact in her support.

So far, the case has received much international and national press.
